SRMC (Security Risk Management Consultants) was founded in 1989 as an independent security consultancy by Elliot A. Boxerbaum, CPP, CSC, while he served as Director of Protective Services at OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio. In 1998 Elliot committed full-time efforts to the company.  SRMC has since earned the reputation of being trusted security advisors to organizations worldwide. 

SRMC has grown to seven consultants along with administrative and support staff and provides a broad range of vulnerability assessment, project management, master planning, technology design, and program support services to clients both, domestically and internationally.

In 1999, John "Chad" Parris, CSC joined SRMC. With over 25 years of security, security technology management, and security operations management, Chad brought a broader end-user perspective to the company.

In 2000, Lynda L. Buel, CPP, CFE, CSC, CPTED Practitioner became an integral part of SRMC. Lynda's experience includes several senior security management positions in banking and retail environments with both local and nationwide responsibilities.

In 2006, Gen A. Lanphere became part of the SRMC team. As the office manager, Gen is responsible for project tracking and overall office administration. Her experience includes extensive work in systems administration and retail management.

In 2008, Paul R. Redmond joined SRMC. Paul's expertise in security technology design and project management provides enhanced process management, quality assurance, and project implementation capabilities.

In 2009, John R. Kleberg. M. Ed. joined the SRMC team, bringing extensive university security, law enforcement and university administrative experience to the organization. John's career spans over forty years in senior positions at several universities.

In 2011, Joel R. Zimmerman joined the SRMC team bringing over 20 years of professional security systems expertise including extensive construction management experience with a special emphasis on integrated low-voltage systems.

In 2012, Charles E. Smith joined SRMC as a consultant bringing extensive experience in healthcare and public law enforcement. Chuck served as a Security and Protective Services Director at multiple hospitals including Director of Protective Services for the seven hospital OhioHealth system.

In February 2013, Lynda L. Buel, CPP, CFE, CSC and John "Chad" Parris, CSC took over SRMC from Elliot A. Boxerbaum, CPP, CSC.

In 2013, Patrick G. Maughan joined SRMC as a consultant bringing over 30 years of public safety experience in higher education and the private sector encompassing a wide variety of roles and responsibilities. These include directorial leadership in fire prevention, emergency medical service, museum security, university security, emergency planning and risk management.

On June 10, 2014, SRMC Founder Elliot A. Boxerbaum passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) after a long and courageous battle.  More Information
